Is there any public transportation from point A to point B? I'm planning to catch a bus or train back to NYC after my DWG to Duncannon section hike in June. I'd prefer not to hitchhike if there an alternative.

It doesn't look like Harrisburg's bus service (http://www.cattransit.com/pdfs/system_maps.pdf)goes to Duncannon, but there might be something. It's only 15 miles though, so a shuttle would be cheap.

There used to be a real early morning weekday bus from the other side of the Susquehanna River but I can't find trace of a schedule for it now. It wasn't CAT, it was either R&J or Hegins Valley but searching on those brings up nothing. Go to the Doyle http://www.doylehotel.com/ , someone will take you. If you don't believe me, call them and ask.

It was Hegins Valley, and it seems that they have given it up. CAT was talking about taking it over, but that hasn't happened, at least yet. However, Susquehanna Trailways still has two buses each way a day to Amity Hall, which is just north of Duncannon. See here for link:

As ki0eh says though, probably just a call to the Doyle will do it. There are some shuttlers around there, too.

Contact TrailangelMary in Duncannon. She really is an angel. She often posts here.

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. Doesn't sound like it'll be much of a problem.
