clothing i will be bringing for the AT:

long underwear bottom
smartwool lightweight long sleeve shirt
polyester ultralight t-shirt
mountain hardwear microchill zip t
mountain hardwear compressor classic jacket
2 pair wigwam cool-lite hiker pro quarter socks
1 pair heavier more insulating socks
1 pair of lightweight zip off pants
1 pair of light fleece gloves
beanie

once i switch out gear for summer i will drop:
gloves
pair of insulating socks
long underwear
and i will switch out the jacket for a windbreaker.

additions? subtractions? thanks!!!!

you might want a heavier pair of zip off pants as well. And you will definitely want to plan to have at least 2 pair with you. One to wear while hiking, the other to wear when you get into camp. You are likely to encounter a lot of rain early, and a dry pair of shell pants will be a god send.

thats a good idea ill get another pair of more protective pants. Yeah the jacket and pants are rainproof as for my startdate it will be april 4th

When you wash your pants you will need a pair of shorts to wear.

Also, how about a bandanna and a pair of camp shoes.

In addition to the beanie, I would also like to have a baseball cap with a good sun visor.

Is that jacket rainproof?

Durable Water Repellent finish repels moistureWater repellent doesn't really mean water proof.

Water repellent doesn't really mean water proof.

Yeah, that's what I thought but I wasn't sure about the Compressor.

I think you should probably have a "real" rain shell.
