You better be in, you're one of the hiker hosts. Is that rairoad track where we're going to meet in Hampton by that big old house? In other words do you turn east off of 301 and go about a mile to the RR Crossing?

Anyone else in?

I'm not sure if we can reveal his/her identity. What say you, Chief? Did Montana Mac get in touch with you? (Whoops, I can't believe I did that.)

Yep, I heard from him. I think we met on the AT in '07. Not sure if he can make it tho. How about you, Bumpjumper?!:welcome

Here's the report. Beautiful day yesterday. Temps in the 60's, bright sun. Chief is a cool guy who knows where all the FT Trailheads are (and that ain't easy sometimes). We met in Hampton and shuttled ourselves to a trailhead 10 miles northwest. The trail is the old RR bed. Rocky in some spots, grassy in others. It's a rather straight shot with planted pines, some swamps and the pretty Sampson River. It does pass a few houses and crosses 301. It's in the woods mostly. Good workout for me and Chief and Blaze. Peaceout!

Nice pictures, Gray Blazer! I thoroughly enjoyed the hike! The lunch stop at Sampson River was great - you just can't beat hot tea and a soaking the feet in cool water at the 1/2 way mark. Let's do another hike!

Chief is a pro.
Thanks for the spot of tea. It definitely hit the tea spot.
