A fellow New Yorker has his own dehydrated meal business. His meals are excellent and the portions are very generous. Each meal is supposed to be for two people, I get three meals out them.

One good option to check is Mary Jane's Farm (http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/categories/food-pantry.asp). Very tasty with less sodium. Price become more reasonable if you buy the bulk serving options.

I may be a little off topic here, but if you are planning a thru and are looking for one of the better selections of freeze dried foods with a good bulk discount, try
http://www.ldpcampingfoods.com/

I have a large variety of food sent to my Manager Of Materials and she mails to resupply stops. I do not recommend this strategy. You may become tired of a meal and then get stuck with it. Also, some people have to abort their hike. Finally, shipping costs will eat up any bulk discount savings.

For our thru we ordered a TON from Harmony House in NC and they were awesome. When we section hike we have used Nitro Pak for the best prices on Mountain House pro-packs.
