Does the Rainshadow have a floor? If it does you can drop the groundcloth... Also those yoga mats are pretty thin.. you might consider another kind of pad for rocky ground... also you might want to take an extra pair of socks. Also Take Earplugs!

Rope? Bear bagging?
Would not use a wind screen with a canister stove, imo
Pack cover?
Are you only using one bottle for your water hiking? Hard to carry water in a canteen, unless you have a place for it? (we used ours to gather water at cmap)
Crocs or camp shoes?
You're only going 40 miles so won't rank to badly on socks. But I carry three pair.

I wouldn't hike with it either. They stink.

The Bear bag, I forgot to put on the list, spectra cord and GG. #6 sack

Ok, the wind screen I have heard of being a problem with canister stoves, but i have not looked into it much, what is the deal?

Carrying one gatorade bottle for the water on the trail, The plastic canteen is for gathering the water for camp.

Havent looked into the camp shoes yet, kicked around the idea of crocs, but I am worried my feet might get too cold, other options?
