Spring Section

What state would you pick to section in the spring? NJ, NY, CT, or MA? I’ve done some small bits of the trail in NJ and NY, but haven’t been up in CT or MA. I am thinking of the first or second week of May. NY or NJ would be easiest for me logistically in terms of shuttling. Some of the pictures I’ve seen of Mass make that seem like a good option, but I wonder if that will be a big mud wallow in early May. Wild flowers a plus.

All opinions and recommendations are welcome.

They will all be wet and muddy most likley. But you may get ahead of the bugs esp in CT and MA which is a bonus.

im hiking ma and i was going to start in CT but now i think i will hike all of ma and see how far i can get in VT see you out there. Ma is supper rad i would go with that

I'd start at DWG and hike north, or perhaps start at Unionville and hike north.
