so I start my hike in beginning of april and my question is do people use crampons for snow on the trail at the start? if there is any...scuse me if this is a dumb looking question. thanks!

No, you won't need crampons or any other kind of specialized gear. If you started in Jan, stablicers might be handy, but not in April. Even if you encounter snow, you'll be able to just hike right through it.

Don't need them. Snow is slushy and melts quick. But get used to soggy feet. :)
