I was thinking of getting a vacpac and was wondering if others out there use one. Thanks.

What is a vac pack? Sounds vaguely pornographic.

yes I have a vaccum packer(sealer). I use it for every hike. I purchase some freeze dried food from Mountain House in #10 cans. Usually beef or chicken. maybe some vegetables. Things I can mix with pasta or rice. Last year I purchased a can of spagetti with meat sauce it is great. A can usually last a bout two summers or 400 plus miles of hiking. I split the items into one cup servings, less for the meat or chicken. Mountain House has some great products including a freeze dried minute rice.

I use a compression sack made by Eagle Creek for my down sleeping bag. It has a sturdy ziploc on one end and one way air release tabs on the other. Simply shove the bag in and bear hug the sack. All the air is pushed out and the one way air release tabs lock shut. Roll it up and in it goes. Waterproof and saves pack volume. http://www.eaglecreek.com/40148.html
