Knowledgable ones:
Seems to be the cool thing to do to ask for gear suggestions as this dictates much about success or failure. I think it is uber cool of those of you who respond to take the time. Here is my drop in the pond of questions.

What i have:
BA seedhouse sl1
Go Lite Quest pack
Mountain Hardware 32* Ultralamina
Thermorest short
Golite Dome umbrella
Leki Thermolite poles
Jetboil
Merrell Chameleo Hex
Patagonia cap 1 top/bottom
Pat. cap 3 top/bottom
Pat. R2 fleece jacket
Pat. Rain shadow
Golite Reed pants
Fleece 3 in one hat
3 pairs socks (any suggestion of sock combos
EMS cargo hiking shorts

Is it effective to use shorts (cargo style) and thermals (capiline 1 and 3), instead of convertible pants? Any draw backs i may not be thinking of?

Sleeping bag is 32*, silk liner could make it warmer. I sleep very warm and am generally warm-natured. Can a mixture of the thermals and fleece be used to make a 32*? Start between 3/25 and 4/1.

I realize I don't have a lot of stuff yet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Other weight saving combinations for clothes, good multi-tool et al.
Again thanks.

again a 32 rated bag needs some insulated clothing for cold weather help -search my recent posts for details I always say add clothing you cannot use a liner for camp and that 10F difference is BS
