Well its finally snowing here in Maryland... not 2 feet or anything that good but we have white ground finally!!!
love the snow.... I have off today, so I get to sit around and watch it fall!! What a great day.

We got about 9" so far with another 6+ before it ends here on the North Shore, MA. :)
About an inch this morning in Durham . . . enough to cause school closings and delayed business openings . . . how embarrassing! :D :eek: Lack of a lot of snow removal equipment and the fact that people here have no clue how to drive in snow is the main reason.

At least your county requires snow on the ground to cancel school... carroll county cancelled last night because it was suppose to snow today!!!!

They do that in Rhode Island all the time. So many things were closed yesterday.

Neighbor dave I am interested! Its just down right warm here. Its been in the 50s to upper 60s for the past 3 weeks. Its supposed to be 73 today and 75 by tomorrow. We have flowers and trees budding here.

yup, snowing here in suffolk right now! maybe an inch or two? schools closed and the roads are quiet!

We got an inch, my dogs have never seen snow since it hadn't snowed here since December of 2000. They looked out the window, looked at me to say what the heck is that? They proceeded to romp, eat snow and I joined them in snow angels in the pasture. Pretty fun stuff!
All those march 1st starters are in the snow right now.

Does anyone remember the 1824 schoolhouse near the trail in VA? That resembles the school I attended for the first 8 years of my schooling, except ours had a second room attached at a right angle to form an L shaped building. All 8 grades was in this one building and the total number of students never exceeded about 40. Our water came from a hand pump like the ones in NJ. Remember those? We walked to school thru the woods on a path that reminds me of the AT except smaller and narrower. We crossed a creek on a fallen tree we called a "foot log". This trail was about two miles long and was an real adventure for a 6 year old.
Snow days were unheard of back then. We went to school come hail, high water or snow. And if you needed a whipping, you got it.
I apologize if this is off the forum too far.
