for what it's worth, consider the airlines. i got a flight outa bradley for $102.19 the best deals on flights seemed to magicly appear on wednesdays.

i get that you're probably trying to save dough. couple things to think about.

1)long car ride

2)shared expenses may cost you near that amount anyway depending on how longyou take to drive down

best of luck

1100 miles boston to atlanta/20mpg=55 gal x 2/gal=$110 just in gas without even considering all the other car ownership/operating expenses. Add a few meals, tolls, lodging if not straight thru and even splitting expenses will likely be more than $100. Cheaper, faster, and easier to fly.

Met a fellow that came down from New Hampshire for a Nobo on the trail and he took Amtrac--which goes into gainesville,ga-30miles from trailhead. I was surprised when he said he paid 258 bucks for the ride and then had to hitch to trail head. food for thought. Clarkhoward.com friday flier. might be a deal there might not be. best of luck

Airtran.com. Example - $69.00 from Boston to Atlanta on Thursday, March 26... I wouldn't mind picking you up at the airport and taking you to Springer at no cost to you. The ride is 2 - 2 1/2 hours from the airport.

Yo - High Life... Just send me a pm if you are interested. I'll pick you up just about any time and take you to Springer as I live in the area. I'm a 300 mile section hiker that would be glad to lend a hand.
