I agree this doesn't help the AT - but most of us have used the steel 1lbs propane bottle and get frustrated when thowing them away. Well I am here to tell you I solved the problem. I still kept a 25 pound cylinder without the OPD because of this issue, I have discovered that gas stations across the country run by "unknowing" owners could care less about OPD cylinders, and will gladly refill an old bottle for $25 bucks. I bought the propane adapter for the refill. I chill the empty bottles for five minutes in a refrigerator and bring them out one by one a fill from the upside down 25 pounder. It's all pretty quick. Except one issue I could not solve....

Propane Leaks. The steel 1pound cylinders have a cheap gasket that once you disconnect from starts to leak gas. Even after refilling. So I approched several "metal working" guys who could make a metal cap. Then I found this last week. I just wanted to get the word out as these caps will only be available for a limited time.
