Hey yall-

The ATC is now summarizing Ridgerunner reports in podcasts so hikers (both thru and otherwise) can get the most up-to-date information about the state of the trail from these folks.

The link below is the first one, so please listen and comment so we can make this as useful as possible (and be nice!). It's from the first Ridgerunner report of the season but once all the other Deep South Ridgerunners finish their first patrol, we will summarize all of their reports.

Currently this is just a Georgia and Smokies thing, but it might grow.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment!!!

This is very cool!!! Can be used effectively for safety issues. May I suggest a voluntary sign up for e-mail text in case of extreme emergencies, to be administered by the ATC. A nominal fee to the ATC for this service could be expected. ex. shootings at Dismal Falls last year. This is being done at Universities across the country

We have a winner! The answer to the Podcast trivia is:

GSMNP
SNP
C and O canal
Blueridge Parkway
Harper's Ferry national Historic park
Delaware water gap

They'll be another up soon...and more frequest as we start loosing water sources..

This got a lot of listens but not alot of suggestions to improve...so yall though it was great..
