:-? Me and MommaJ will probably camp maybe a handful of weekends this year.. Is the additional room you gain in the T3 vs the T2 worth the additonal cost and weight?
We will be using 25" x 77" sleeping Pads as well..
Any thoughts and ideas welcome...

Thanks

My wife and I often used the MSR Hubba Hubba, which has almost identical room as the Quarter Dome T2 in its new version. We hammock a great deal now, so we don't use it as much. BUT, we recently got a Quarter Dome T3 and find it MUCH more comfortably roomy than the Hubba Hubba. Since my wife is recovering from a broken ankle, we'll take the T3 on our next trip so I can help lighten up her pack. The room available should MORE than make up for for the extra pound or so.

You can cut a surprising amount of weight from the T3 by getting lighter stakes, and leaving all the bags home.

My wife & I use a Big Agnes SL3 instead of a 2 man tent.

The new quarter dome series is fabulous, but a little on the short size. I'm 5'1 and find them very comfortable, but anyone pushing 6' is going to find them tight height wise. Other then that, they are worth it. The T2 if you want to snuggle all night long, the T3 if you want to snuggle sometimes and have a little personal space otherwise.
