Once the AMC is mentioned, I'm out. Bummer for the wilds of NH, but under the AMC auspices, I'll take my efforts to a better place, like Maine and Vermont.

Worried about those fees for volunteering are you?:rolleyes::D

Okay, I also joking refer to them as the Appalachian Money Club on occaision, but I honestly think that they are a net positive from both a trail and conservation perspective. They are a bit too controlling and domineering (if those are the correct word) for my personal tastes, but that may well be more my "authority" problem than theirs.

It's theirs. . . they are looking into a controlling stake in the absolutley beautiful 100 mile wilderness in Maine. They have control/cash cow issues that supercede any interest in environment and the trail that they pretend to 'protect'.
The Devil's in the woods and they are the AMC.
