Yahtzee , I don't much about headlamps ...still piece - mealing gear one at a time . What is your take on these ?

Pass. You can buy something lighter and cheaper at Walmart. However, come real gear time Petzl and Princeton Tec are the brands of choice.

Walmarts headlamp comes 11 cents cheaper at $ 14.88 , not sure if its the Ozark Trail brand name.
I will pass on this and will go to Wallyworld in person , get more insight on their headlamp.

14.88 sounds like the EverReady ones. They're just fine for most hiking needs. Not as nice as the higher priced Petzl and others which have slightly brighter LED's and lenses and such, but they serve the purpose quite well at low cost and light weight.
