We are planning our hike and plan to do a section between either Fontana Dam and Clingman or Fontana to Cosby Campground. What would other hikers recommend...north to south or south to north?

Do you prefer uphill or downhill. Uphill? Fontana to Clingmans. Downhill? Clingmans to the campground.
