Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a book on outdoor/hiking cooking?

I am not looking for cute recipes like Back Country Soufle..
Nutritional information such as calories per weight would be great.

Thanks,

Try looking at the Freezer Bag Cooking website (http://www.freezerbagcooking.com) and then ordering her book. The author is a member here (Sarbar) and is extremely helpful when it comes to all things freezer bag cooking related. Great gal and an excellent resource.

I did a review of Lipsmackin Vegetarian Backpackin for backpackgeartest a few years ago. The review (here (http://www.backpackgeartest.org/reviews/Books/Cook%20Books/Lipsmackin%20Vegetarian%20Backpackin/Ken%20Bennett/Field%20Report/) and here (http://www.backpackgeartest.org/reviews/Books/Cook%20Books/Lipsmackin%20Vegetarian%20Backpackin/Ken%20Bennett/Long%20Term%20Report/)) is somewhat mixed, but I have been using several recipes from that book since then. You might check it out.
