If you come to a field on a cloudy day and see bunch of cows.. they are probably lined up facing north/south.. unless you are on a power line...

Just FWIW, I work with cows a couple times a week. I have never really paid attention to their exact direction when grazing, but I have observed them facing all different directions while grazing. I call BS.

a few years of grad school may cure your delusions and you will see the cows line up

We'll need a steering committee for this projectSee if you can round one up. I herd if we find the right wavelength we could control their direction of movement which could make bullfights a lot more interesting. We only need to tune a cow which shouldn't be hard because we already know how to tuna fish.

wow I was wrong. I always thought that moss grew on the north side of cows. Hugh learn something new everyday.

Don't need grad school. Grad school can't teach ya what 33 years around cows will.

I just went out and looked a few hours ago, cows facing all sorts of directions grazing...................

Only along odd numbered roads.
On even numbered, they face east/west.

This thread is nonsense and full of misinformation. Cows face north or south, east or west, according to breed. When you see them facing all directions it usually means they are cross breed cows. If they are not cross breeds, and they are facing different directions, it is an indication they are rebelious/non-conformist cows, directionally challanged cows or just retarded cows.

When I saw the subject of this thread, I just knew Warraghiyagey wouldn't be able to resist posting here. :)

I once saw every cow in a field with their tails up like they were all peeing together, then I realized it was just the extremely high Kansas winds blowing their tails out straight. Come to think of it...they were ALL facing north!!

Cattle Respond To Magnetic Fields From Power Lines

By Randolph E. Schmid, Ap Science Writer Randolph E. Schmid, Ap Science Writer – Mon Mar 16, 5:21 Pm Et
But Without Such Factors About Two-thirds Of Them Tended To Align North-south When Away From Power Lines. Was the other third made up of hippie cows from South Park? They always go to the beat of a different drum.

Just stay away from those evil power lines and carry a compass to keep it pointing the right way!

They're keeping an eye out for Canadian rustlers. Cows don't like the cold. Happy cows come from warm sunny California. I saw it on TV, so it must be true.

I guess we need to ask a bovine anthropologist if we want the truth.

I was always told that cows face downwind. The wind bothers their faces.

Steven Write fans will know that a Calcium anthropologists study Milk Men.

Well, we can't just let a cowboy mentality rein, the steaks are too high.
