I'm planning to do this section next month, taking 6-7 days to complete. Any comments with trail conditions, water supply etc. appreciated. Also, is the trailhead parking at DWG relatively safe or are there any better options?

You're not likely to get better information than could be had by contacting Delaware Water Gap NRA (http://www.nps.gov/dewa/).
