Today I went on a small hike and somehow ended up walking through a pricker bush. It ripped about a quater inch hole in my gore tex jacket along with three tiny little pinholes. Is this a repair that I can do on my own ? Do you think those three tiny pinholes will let water in?

How about a drop of Super Glue?

Do they still make seam-sealing tape? That stuff irons onto the inside of the fabric. It doesn't breathe, but it doesn't leak, either.

Super glue is a terrible fix- You want something flexible. I second a smear of silicon sealant or seam grip, or just duct tape.

All my rain gear has duct taped patches in numerous spots, no biggie. Just make sure the jacket is clean and press a tape patch on there. I like to put something warm on it, like a VERY cool iron for just a second or two to help the adhesive set.

Over the years, I have torn my share of GTX jackets and pants in the krumholz.
I usually stitch the area closed and then use Seam Grip over the area, saturating it. If it is 3 layer GTX, you can put some on the inside. If it is 23 layer GTX it might be a bit more difficult.

There is also a GTX patch kit that I have used in the past that works very well on pants. I got a patch kit from REI in Anchorage and it is still holding tight on the seat of my pants 7 years later.

a tent repair kit of the same fashion toolshed is referring to should work also, and will likely be cheaper and easier to find
