Flew to Ft. Lauderdale Florida last week, on the way back, snatched a couple of Airline Pillows to see how they'd work out hiking. Scale says 4 oz. This thing is obviously disposable once it gets wet or messy.
I'll let you know after this weekend how they've worked, I've got a small 22mi section hike from High Point to Pochuck Mtn with the AMC.

Or instead of stealing from the airline, you could buy a inflatable bath pillow from any discount store for $1.50.
They're disposable pillows Flemdawg1, depending on the airline, they'll be thrown out regardless... and you're allowed to take them (especially useful when your connecting flight has been delayed)

My brother left me one and I've been using it for backyard hammock naps...it works great!

I half about half dozen inflatable life jackets from airlines that I collected over the years as a younger man. Not proud of it, but they're always a hit when you break them out at a party.
