Jack Tarlin

It's a T-shirt for people who like wearing really ugly stuff.

No.

I also "don't get it". What's the "12 mile ride" bit about? Bikes aren't even allowed on the Trail...

No.
Well, maybe I would if you promise NEVER to post another .pdf link again.
Just upload a .jpg for pete's sake!

who designed it?

Jack Tarlin
03-24-2009, 13:11
Someone raised a good point.....if the "12 Mile" thing refers to cycling, then it has no business being considered as the official Trail Days shirt, as Trail Days was designed as a hiking festival.

If it's been planned and will be sold as a private venture, well that's fine, and I wish tem luck with it.

I'm sure the three folks who like the design will enjoy it.

Lone Wolf
03-24-2009, 13:24
trail days was designed to celebrate all trails that go thru damascus. a bike trail is one of them

No, it is not the official shirt. Someone was asking me my opinion about it and I thought I would throw it at you guys as well.

I don't like it, but who knows it might be a great seller?

Not my cuppa tea. But then again I tend to like boring sorts of t-shirts anyway. (Big busted women don't need anything printed on the front of their t-shirts to give folks another reason to stare ;) )

No. If I wore a fresh T shirt every day, I couldn't wear them all before Labor Day. I don't need another.

Captain Blue

There is a reference to the county jail on the shirt. The skull is behind bars. Is it a 12 mile ride in a cop car to the county jail?

They're part of a bone. I prefer my skulls with cross-bones, but times are tough.

YES, I would gladly wear it if I actually went to Trail Days this year. (And got hauled off to Abingdon Jail)

Just what do the Damascus police do to you during that 12 mile ride that warrants an "I Survived" designation if you make it to the county jail? I assume the shirt design artist has made that ride and knows.

Not my taste in shirts. I am not into skulls. But I would not be offended to see it on someone else at all.

03-25-2009, 21:49
You know ... don't have them for sale at TD, but have them for sale at the jail. Then it will hit its target clientele.

I like the fact that it very much has a "look". I'm not too keen on the message. I love the AT carving in the skull head, though. Very subtle but also a neat visual treat.

Its not the subject or the great art, - it has nothing really to do with trail days or hiking....

What does a festival celebrating the AT have to do with skulls and getting arrested?

Now that I know the rest of the story I change my mind. I would wear the shirt proudly...especially in the county lock up. Um....why exactly would I be in a county farm?:)

...12 mile ride to the county jail via Damascus Police Department and that's who the shirt was designed for.Guessing here...it was designed for the Damascus Police Chief who was arrested in 2007 for dealing meth?

If that's it, it still doesn't explain what it has to do with Trail Days though...the police chief's arrest didn't happen until 2 months after the 2007 Trail Days.

Considering what just happened to the former Damascus police chief, that's appropriate... :D
