I bought quite a bit from http://www.supplycaptain.com/ beause my son was making paracord bracelets. Great selection, best pricing around (even with shipping), and fast delivery.

I got my camoflauge cord (if you need cord for bear bagging) at wally world. Also found cord on the trail too. So around 2 bucks to free. :)

Army surplus stores, gun shows, "real" outdoor outfitters who carry rope and cord by the foot, etc.

Any decent outfitter will have a range of rope and cord.

If you need to order online, try here (http://www.rei.com/search?query=cord&button.x=0&button.y=0).

Bass Pro Shop carries it if you have one near you.

You may want to check the quality of the paracord for your requirements. The cheaper stuff I bought was 3 internal cords and the more expensive stuff was full milspec 7 internal cords. The quality was noticeably better on the "expensive" ($7/50ft) stuff.

If you don't have a local military surplus store that carries it, there are plenty of online sources for 550 cord. Try online at Ranger Joe's, US Cav, Brigade Quartermaster, Blackhawk, and the DIY Tactical store, etc.
