Jan Liteshoe's book is a very good read.

So is J. R. Tate's Walking on the Happy Side of Misery (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/1401020410/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=283155&s=books).

Lots of good ones. This one is true and amazing...

The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom
by Slavomir Rawicz

Makes "A Walk in the Woods" look like "A Dally in the Park."

I just picked up two Colin Fletcher books used, cheap.
The Thousand Mile Summer and The Man Who Walked Through Time.
Read them both years ago, good stuff.

Also Miller's AWOL ON THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL, and Rubin's OFF THE BEATEN PATH. The latter is more literary and less of an itinerary of a hike.

Jack Hitt's OFF THE PATH is about walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain and is very good. Like Rubin's book, it is less a hike report than a ruminative narrative.

I ran into Skywalker yesterday at Environeers in Sarasota. He was in the process of delivering them some books to sell. Skywalker says he is headed to the PCT this year for a go at it.
Environeers is a hikers Heaven.

... and Rubin's OFF THE BEATEN PATH. The latter is more literary and less of an itinerary of a hike.

Just in case anyone might be doing a title search to find it, it is "ON the beaten path," and not "OFF the beaten path." Hope this helps. A good AT book, yes.
