I have a urethane coated tarp I want to seam-seal.

I'm happy with Henry Shire's instructions for seam-sealing silnylon, but I haven't been happy with what I've used to seam-seal urethane coated stuff. The water-based Cochlan seam sealer does not make me happy.

What works best? I'm interested in both products and techniques ...

McNett makes both silicone and urethane seam sealer. Probably would work as well as anything. Make sure that, no matter what you use, you use thin coats, thick coats will peel right off after a short time. Multiple thin coats is much more effective and durable than one thick one.

Lyle is right. McNett's seam sealer does the job, stays flexible and stays on - if you clean the seams properly with rubbing alcohol. Nothing else performs even close.

Thanks, I'm ordering the stuff ... or is this something I can get at WalMart?

Seam Grip -
Best you can get. Comes with a little brush to brush it on. Lasts for a decade easy. It is at my Walmart and Dicks last I checked.
