How easy is it to get to Rockfish Gap from Staunton? I'm arriving in Staunton via AMTRAK and was wondering what my options are? Buses (how regular are these?), shuttles (are they readily available?)? Thanks.

Its about 30 mins by car. I live around waynesboro, which is in between Staunton and Rockfish Gap. They arent really buses or shuttles that would run that route. Taxi would take you, but charge you an arm n a leg. If you'd like to save a few bucks, it would be no problem for me to give ya a lift.

There was a bus last summer - Staunton to Waynesboro. Check with the Visitor Center not far from the Amtrak Station. I was on the way to the bus and never got to the stop - got offered a ride instead. Waynesboro to RFG is about 6 miles. Plenty of Trail Angels in Waynesboro to offer rides. Check the ATC Shuttle List for rides. Pam Bennett was very helpful when I did exactly what you will do - Amtrak to RFG.

CATS bus (Staunton-Waynesboro "250 Connector") apparently stops at the Visitor Center
