Found the perfect backpacking battery:
CES 2009: Water- or Pee-Powered Batteries from Aqua Power (http://www.goodcleantech.com/2009/01/ces_2009_water_peepowered_batt.php)
http://www.goodcleantech.com/2009/01/ces_2009_water_peepowered_batt.php

Dual use - battery power and privy!

But seriously - could be an interesting backup for bug out bags...

magnesium, aluminum and water powered, the water is a silly hype gimmick. The electricity comes from the reaction of the two metals.
I'd bet it isn't practical.

Water activated batteries have been around for some time. Typically they are used to power emergency radio gear or lights because they have an infinate shelf life. The battery is inert until water is added to activate it. The big question is how long does the battery last once it is activated?
