My best guess? 50% aged 30 or younger, 20% 30 to 45 and 30% age 45 or older.

I'm hiking this year and I'm forty:eek:...still hard to admit that....
I've noticed my legs are 40 now too! My thinking is still very much that of an 8 or 9 yr old:cool: okay more like 21 but my legs keep telling me to go to hell whenever I try to convince them that a couple more miles is doable before dark.

Of the 100 or so I saw in four days out grilling cheeseburgers at Tray Gap, The vast majority were 30 and under. there were 8-10 over 50 and a couple in their 40s.

I'm not thruhiking but I voted on behalf of a young thruhiker I know (he recently entered NC) who is not on WB.

I'll be 23 when I start this June. Just graduating from college.

You need another choice for those not hiking but want to see the results. OK ignore this, just noticed the "view results" button. Never noticed that before.

jarenoldss...congrats! i'm hoping to pull off a thru hike this year, but still alot of planning to do, certainly havent sorted anything out

My son turns 18 on the trail! Friends 18 and 24 from Georgia
