I will be hiking with a buddy of mine from Amicalola Falls to Sassafras Mountain and back tomorrow. We will be leaving sometime in the early/late evening. We are training for a longer 24 hour hike.

brack, I just got back from a weekend hike up to Springer. Many Sleeps the caretaker up there, said that there could be snow in that area either Tuesday or Wednesday. Night temperatures in the 20's. Many Sleeps stays around the plaque and mailbox during the day and has a tent up by the shelter, he counts and interviews all the hikers leaving Springer, thruhikers or anyone going out for more than 10 dyas. His total is up to 660+ hikers leaving Springer since late February. He indicated that since April the numbers of hikers are dropping to about 12-15 a day. Good luck on your hike.
