Can someone recommend a cooking pot for two?
I'm looking for a cheap solution like Kmart Grease pot.

Or is it better to have two separate pots and stoves?

A 2L pot works well for 2. Though if you like eating at different times or hike separately at times, two .9L pots would work better.
You might look at what AGG carries for thin cheap pots though if you price them out you can pick up a GSI pot for good deals.

Grease Pot, unless you want to work some culinary magic on the trail, like making pasta and sauce seperatly you would need two pots (although you could cook the pasta, and then heat the sauce in the same pot. It was just an example :D). If you are just heating water for freeze dried, a grease pot will do it well.

Unless you are family, get your own solo one.

I bought the grease pot to replace a 1.7L MSR pot. The grease pot was too small for 2 of us unless we did just freezer bag cooking...which we don't. Still searching for a 1.6-1.8L solution that won't break the bank.

You guys actually find the grease pot in stores? I've only been able to find it online.

Well that sucks. I just tried myself and wasted an hour and some gas. At least you saved me from driving to university!

Here's the big IMUSA greasepot (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018EA048). It's 1.7L I have one, I like it. It's fairly light, cheap and big enough for 2.

I picked up a Primus Eta 1.7L pot on SAC the other day for pretty cheap. Heavy, but the heat exchanger really works well.

KMart has them. I think it was $6.97 or something and they are in the section with strainers, cuttings boards, etc...Speaking of cutting boards, never mind that's for another thread.:-?

It looks deep and narrow, which makes 1 pot meals tougher but not impossible. What does it weigh? Does food stick really bad? Thanks for the heads up btw.

I just went down and measured it, it's not as tall and narrow as it looks. Without the lid, it's 5" Diameter and 5 5/8 tall. Food sticks if you burn it, but not otherwise, like any uncoated aluminum pot. I don't have a scale, but it's pretty darn light. There's a thread somewhere that gives the weight of the big one if you search imusa. You could probably take another ounce off it if you mess with the handle.

Is this different than the pots/pans section? The one I checked Sun didn't have it. There's one on my way home I'll check. Il, if I find them I'll buy two.

At the KMart I went to, it was the next isle over from the pots and pans.

Ok, I didn't find the pot but I did find a pot. The other one may have been replaced. Mine is labeled from Essential Home. Here's the label info.

You may be ok calling with this info but I still haven't found it searching K-Mart online.

This is what it looks like.

Snow Peak makes a 2 liter titanium pot for around $40. This might be in the "break the bank" category...but, mine has been with me for about 2500 miles and I'm taking it back out next week for another 200.

I've cooked for 3 people in that pot (it was tight but doable).
