Been some inquiries/references to a quote list I compiled.

Here it is for anyone who is curious:

I wonder if any of these can be used in a book like for beginnings of chapter? Or are there royalties involved? I'm never sure on the legality of using quotes.

Beats me...I am not an IP lawyer.

However, people use quotes all the time in their introductions to books, chapters, writings, etc. "Fair use" law perhaps?

But again, I am not an IP lawyer

you have to cite who said it, usually. You know, give credit. But I'm no IP lawyer (whatever that is), so who knows.

But otherwise how could anyone write a nonfiction book? Those things are almost always based at least a little bit on research/quotes. That's waht the footnotes, and the bibliography at the end are for.
