I picked up a REI Half Dome 2HC Tent with my 20% off this past month, but was wondering how it stacks up against a Eureka and Kelty tents listed below. Should I stick with the heavier REI Dome, or are there better options.

REI Half Dome : http://www.rei.com/product/728308
Eureka Spitfire 2 : http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-Performance-Spitfire-Two-Person-Backpacking/dp/B000EQ8VTC/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I18E0OQ81Q75L4&colid=3GNPPUP7J5HBO
Kelty Grand Mesa 2 : http://www.amazon.com/Kelty-Grand-Mesa-2-Person-Tent/dp/B000W9TSY8/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I18WGESRR3P0O0&colid=3GNPPUP7J5HBO

Thanks,

Ben

Also a little more information. There will be of us using this tent, both under 5'7. We plan on doing some camping in the Shenandoah, and out west in Utah and NM.

I have and use an REI Half Dome. It's bulletproof and pretty roomy. I was on a hike at the Grassy Ridge Bald, we had rain, high winds, and thunderstorms, and 3 of the 5 tents were compromised badly, one blew down. I was completely dry.

But the Half Dome is a pound and a half heavier than these other two tents you point to. I'd love to have something lighter. I haven't used these other tents. (I currently use a tarp or a tarp and a hammock or a tarptent if it is just me.)
