Hi everyone, i have a friend who stored a down sleeping bag in a stuff sack a few years. He now wants me to buy it off him. What are your thoughts on the loft after this bag has been stuffed this long?

Check and see (before you buy it :D) how much the bag lofts, and then see what it is supposed to loft to. Dont just buy it without checking.

I keep mine stuffed all the time. I have a few of them. It probably isn't the best thing for it, but i don't have the room in my garage.
I'd try it out on a cool night and see what you think.

foyt20 is right on point. check it out and if it meets your standards buy it. you can also try throwing it in the dryer on low with a few tennis balls to poof it back up.

I would want to know exactly to brand, type, and rating specs of the down. Down does not loose it's loft as bad as synthetic over a lifetime so if it's high quality to begin with and it fluffs up good after hanging it out on the line for a few then I would try it out. Try it before you buy it.
