This weekend I hiked Osceola and East Osceola on saturday and Mt Martha and Owls Head on Sunday. I had done Osceola and E Osceola before, but never the ride betweend them. There was a lot of fun scrambling and whatnot between the peaks, and the view back on Osceola from the ridge was a good one.
Sunday, our small group headed up to Mt Martha and Owls Head (not the 4000 foot Owlshead). From the ledges of Owl's Head, I got possibly the finest view of the Presidentials that I have ever seen I was able to follow the AT from Crawford Notch up Pierce, Ike, Monroe, Washington, Clay, Jefferson, Adams and barely the peak of Madison. It was truely an unbelievable view.
The only thing that made the weekend better was three dinners at the Woodstock Station and some fine brews at the Franconia Notch Brewing Company's first brewfest. Their Mountain Stout is a very fine brew.
