I am planning on doing a hike of the Shenandoah National Park section of the AT. My question is how easy would it be to find a safe parking space in Waynesboro then get a ride from front royal back down to my car?
Don't quote me on this because I've never done it but what I'm *fixing* to do is park my car at the Inn in Afton (Rockfish Gap) and get a shuttle to Harpers Ferry and hike back.
I arranged a shuttle with Mountain Valley Shuttle www.mvshuttle.com (http://www.mvshuttle.com) and that's what they recommended that I do.
I've parked at the Afton Inn many times. You can get the shuttle, which is good, or hitch a ride along the Skyline Drive. People are happy to pick up hikers along there.
