What is the general consensus on these things?

I saw them for the first time today, and they are supposed to be made of a fiber that inhibits the growth of bacteria, therefore eliminating most of the stink. I looked at briefs and t-shirts made of the stuff. It seems very much like lycra to the touch.

Opinions?

Antibacterial and antifungal clothes have been around for at least 2500years.
Think about wool and all its qualities....the stink factor is the major reason I got into SmartWool, that after getting a nose full of my shirt after 5 days of funk.

O.K., I'll admit to buying a pair of Exofficio anti bacterial underwear, and a Marmot ant-bac shirt. I have just completed 3 days wearing the same pair of underwear (wife thinks I'm crazy), and honest to god, they don't smell at all! I didn't just lie around the house either, I mowed the yard, and spent a great deal of time outside. These things are the most comfortable briefs I have ever worn, as they wick moisture away, and I never feel "clammy". I guess no moisture means no breeding ground for bacteria, which is what makes you smell anyway.

I'm hooked enough to buy nothing but these for every day wear, plus for hiking.
