Hi, This will be my first section hike on the AT. Is 7 days a fairly accurate approximation of the time this will take? Vacations are few and far between and I'd really like to enjoy this week on the AT. Thanks and happy hiking.

That's about 15 miles per day. You can do it. The terrain is not so bad.

phillipthehiker, That sounds like a great 7 day hike to me. Your going to run into the beginning of the northbound thru hiker crowd while your out there. I was out hiking on the AT in Harriman State Park in NY State this past weekend and I ran into 5 NOBO's.
