I found out today that the person I was riding down to Springer with for my thru hike next year had to cancel his thru hike. This means I have no ride now.

Is there anyone heading down to Springer next year (2010) from New England (preferably Maine) that has room for me?

If you buy a plane ticket now it'll probably be like $100.

Sign up for Greyhound's Road Rewards program and you can get a 50 percent off coupon. I found it pretty easy to get there from Mass. using Greyhound and the shuttle at the Hiker Hostel.

You can also try Craigslist. That is, if you don't have any luck on here.

Amtrak. No Greyhound (see thread on Greyhound horror stories). Good news is there is still plenty of time to catch a ride. I am sure plenty of 2010 thruhikers have not even announced their intentions.

Depending on your start date we can get you close. . . . :)

Thanks everyone. I had Greyhound and Amtrack in the back of my mind in case I had to. However it seems my post has served its purpose. I was contacted by someone that lives about 30 miles from me that is also heading to Springer in March that has a seat available as of right now. How great is that. It looks like their start date is 6 days later then what I want but I can live with that. Awesome.
