Are there any sites that others know of that have hardcore homemade gear guys? I know the Hammock forum is great for Homemade hammocks, but I have a lot of other DYI gear that I need ideas for.

Anders Jonsson (http://www.andersj.se/)-- a bit of an over-achiever, but awesome results. I believe he also posts on hammockforums.net. Click on the language icon on the bottom of his homepage.

Happy Trails.

Got to love the over achievers, the guys who will try 500 different mods on a piece that works fine, fail miserably 499 times, but that 1 time they will make that small change that greatly improves piece, and makes us all say "I should have thought of that".

Does he have an English page?

Yes- try this link (http://translate.google.se/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.andersj.se&sl=sv&tl=en&hl=sv&ie=UTF-8). It's under the British icon at the bottom of his home page. Also try seaching google or youtube videos- pros like Skidsteer, Shugs, and others come up. You may have to sort through a lot of junk to get to the pearls, though. I often use Google Images, too, for things like Reflectix, etc.

My next project is the Caldera Cone (http://hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7145)- don't really need it, but I'll be giving a seminar on DIY gear at an expo next month.

That link worked maybe if I were smarter I would have noticed the flags lol.
I have been debating myself over whether or not to build a cone. They seem like a really good idea, but I would think they would take up space I am not ready to give up, then I thought about just making a cylinder, but I thought lighting my stove would prove to be difficult, so I have decided on a personal design. B4 I start the frame of it I want to figure out if I should use silver solder for the frame or JB weld. I am afraid my new stove may get hot enough to melt the solder, but as much as I like JB, I worry about it holding up. I also haven't decided what I should build the frame from, my first thought was coat hangers, but I worry they may be too week (I plan to have 4 vertical posts welded to a circle top and bottom and 3 posts at about 15 degrees from bottom to a small shelf for the stove). If hangers are too weak, I have thought about welding rods as well, but then the weight of the frame begins to concern me. So then I thought about a tebular frame from aluminum.
I guess you can see why I would like an over achiever lol, they save me all the guess work.

Nice link, I stole 2 or 3 ideas from those videos.
