I have had a few cats and I named them all the same thing. "Stupid cat"
Sometimes I would call them Stupid and other times I would call them cat. What can I say I a bit of a fan of the Duke, but I like dogs too much to just call them dog.
I bet rentman has been dying to use that. While I'm at it, and I hope everyone catches this......but I often hear people say that they're "church" is out there in the wilderness....... and everyone hikes with at least some spiritual meaning to it. So why do I get criticized for having religious overtones? Or is it because I believe in Jesus Christ? So what's "not hiking" really?? It's a cat that needs a name and a patron of this website that wants to see what kinda cool names, us cool hikers can come up with. God bless America!

Cronus. it the name of a greek titan.
Cronus was a jerk- he castrated his father and ate his own children. Maybe he had a good reason.

Both my cats know there names. Not that I'm special....and I don't think the numbers are accurate. Most cats know there name, they just care not to pay attention 18 hours a day:rolleyes:

"Kater" (the "a" is pronounced as "ah") might not be bad. In German, that's the name for a male cat and it also means "hangover." :D
"Hangover" is not a bad name either. They tend to do that.

No matter what you call him/she, it's still only going to come to "here Kitty kitty" when yu call it
If I ever have another one I will name him/her what I say to them most of the time and that is.....
Scat
or,
Scatdammit
Of course both will be pronounced with affection and a smile, such as....."here Scat", or "here Scatdammit"

Why do you even name a cat? They never come or even look at you when called unless there's food involved. We've got three and the only time I see them is when I get near the food bin or when one (named hunter-killer) brings me an offering, be it dead mouse, mole or vole. Usually daily. That is one bad cat.

06-03-2009, 18:11
As an aside, hunter-killer as posted above is a victim (so my daughters say) of shaken-kitty syndrome (SKS.) My Lab used to shake her like a rag doll and we think that this contributed to her excellent hunting skills and all around neglect for any companionship, be it human, feline or canine. I am accepting donations to study SKS and my Congressman has placed earmarks in the budget for this research project.
