Start drilling holes in everything, possibly a lighter bad using 800+ down

2 bivies? keep the 6oz one, and trade the 13 oz sylnylon one for a small tarp... same weight, more versatile shelter

(unless of course you like sleeping in a big condom with all your stuff outside when it rains)

I would add:
map
compass
watch
hand soap
notebook with pen or pencil

empty soda bottles for water carrying11 if this is 11 ounces its kind of heavy.

I assume your second silnylon bivy is really a tarp? Looks like a good UL pack for three-season use. Congratulations on achieving a sub-ten pound pack.

Definitely add a compass and paper and pen, carry maps if needed. You can use a single-edged razor blade instead of a knife to offset the extra weight!

I'd also add some kind of a trash bag to keep trash in.

i corrected my post. its a tarp for 13 oz. Also, the two water bottles are 1 ounce not 11. What would I use the watch for?

What would I use the watch for?

A watch is as important a compass when I'm navigating in rough terrain, off trail. I note the time on my map when I'm at a known point and I know my pace, so I can use the watch to tell where I am. I also use it as an alarm if I want to get up before dawn.

I also use the watch for navigating. for example if I am 2 miles from a road that I am looking for, I know it will take me about 1 hour to get there.

Also, if it is going to be dark in 1 hour and I am 4 miles from a shelter, I already know I will be there after dark.

When going into town to the post office, they close at certain times. You need to know that.

Also it helps me get out of bed in the morning, otherwise I would probably lay there half the morning.

And if you really want to save weight, you don't need the watch band, just the watch.

And you can use your watch for a compass.

You're doing well on weight. Just one thing:
"Thermarest small pillow7" That's 7 ounces?? That's a lot when you're down to 8 lb.
Why not put your clothes into a stuff sack for a pillow. Or since the neoair is thick so you might want it to be higher, put your pack underneath a stuff sack of clothes.

I was about to write that you need some warmer clothes till I realized that the montbell ex lite jacket is a down jacket. If you don't already own it you might consider a synthetic jacket instead of down for wet conditions.

Thanks, I learned some things from reading your list.

I feel vaugly undressed without a watch. Plus all the previous uses noted.Me too, but I don't have a problem with feeling vaguely undressed. ;)

Buddy of mine from the UK had this titanium wristwatch that was think and super light even though it was fairly big in diameter and very readable. I'm not a Ti freak, but Way cool.

I'm looking for a wind up though.

Must assume you will have fuel in your fuel bottle, I'd think.

Clothes is pretty sparse. Camp clothes or long underwear? Hiking Socks (I assume you are not hiking in fleece socks)?

I wouldn't worry about cutting your toothbrush in half, it's a pain literally and teeth are important.

so you guys think a pair of long johns top and bottom to sleep in would be a good thing to pack? I am wearing my hiking socks...i dont see any point in carrying a second pair since i sleep in the fleece ones. I bring the pillow instead of that thermarest stuffsack/pillow liner because i dont carry enough extra clothes to fill a pillow.
