My specific question is, considering silicone is the only thing that will adhere to silnylon, can I use undiluted silicone to attach the no-see-um mesh I bought to the tarp?
It will be quicker and much easier for me to do so. Will it work? Will it hold up?

It will probably work, but it won't hold up. I just checked with the Master of the Sewing Machine (my lovely wife), and she suggests that the thick undiluted silicone will peel off the silnylon fairly easily. Sorry, man.
looks like I'm going to have some sore fingers sewing...
