I was looking at Shutterbugs "done that list" and thought we could start a group list.

1. Caught the Rhododendron Gardens on Roan Mt in full bloom. Absolutely breathtaking. Postcards don't give it justice.

4. Saw the Himalayas, and got a teensy peak at Everest. Didn't get to hike there, though.

Thanks!
Actually I canoed from Pa. to New Orleans, hiked the AT from Ga. to Me. and then bicycled back to Pa. Took me 13 months...wish that I could leave again tomorrow! 5,178 human powered miles. I have a little over 27,000 miles of canoeing under my belt.

Ventured into the Reactor Building at 100% power of the Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Plant. Approx. 130 degrees F and about 98% humidity, not to mention radiation levels. Makes hypothermia while hiking the AT a welcomed (and safe) event. :)

not sure being in the reactor building should be on anyone's must do list. I was inside the one at V.C. Summer Station in SC. Wouldnt care to do that again. Once was enough.

One of the best out of soo many awesome trail experiences was when I was hiking western Maui near acid rocks. I was camped in my hammock on the edge of a 200 ft cliff around 11 P.M listening to my MP3 player when I heard over the sounds of the music what I thought was part of the cliff falling into the water. I took off my headphones and looked out across the full moonlit water. Just then a humpback whale did almost a full breach silhouetted against the full moon as a backdrop. It was so loud and soo unforgettable.

Rode a freight train from elpaso texas through AZ into Colton CA then north through bakers field, roseville over shasta through Klamath falls, and Eugene. Also from Roseville CA over the rockies through Reno/sparks into Ogden Utah, as well as from Colton to Las vegas. Some of the most amizing things I have ever seen I have seen from a freight train.

I am applying to CSX and a few other railroad companies. I think I am looking for the continuous adventure.

Hiked the crater rim trail (at least the part we were allowed to) and hiked into the caldera for a short bit, on Kilauea.
Slept in a smelly hotel with bad food on the top of a very beautiful mountain in China.

I've often thought of this scene, and thought about things to do, but haven't done much yet. I am taking greater pleasure in the simpler adventures though, especially those with my daughter. I loved that "butt in the face" 'done that' that someone mentioned. Kids give us alot of crazy moments. I'm making a list of my daughter's moments to read out on here wedding day. Gotta be a few adventures of my own left in me though. :)

I've sailed small boats in some pretty strong winds in alot of crazy places.
It's amazing where you can go and what you can do and with some practice.
I've been meaning to get better at ocean paddling and so forth, and hiking of course.
But those mountain climbing dudes scare the bejeebees out of me. No freek'n way.

Did a piece of the Tahoe Rim trail. Unbeatable until I go somewhere better.

Can't beat Fall in the White Mountains.

Waiting to follow in my parents footsteps and spend a year or more in Alaska.

The done that list is so much shorter than the "Man you got to do that" list.:D Truly Jealous Jim

Ran the New York City marathon with a huge grin and lots of tears the whole way. Gave my wife a big kiss at mile 20 and again at mile 23 (1st avenue over to 5th avenue). Who else has seen all five boroughs of New York City in about 4 hours?:D

Went on a couple hour mountain bike ride to an uninhabited island on the Carolina Coast only accessible at low tide by fording across an inlet carrying our bikes. Well, we spent too much time cruising around and enjoying the scenery that when we got back to the inlet it was unpassable. We decided to go follow a trail we had seen earlier.

After 5+ hours, running out of water, horse flies, mosquitoes, no seeums, 2 rattlesnakes and crossing a near stagnant creek terrible smelling creek...we made it to a dirt road. We road for a while and finally came upon a beautiful old house and a guy working in a garden. He was surprised to see us as we were to see him. He said we found our way to 100+ acre plantation and told us some history of the place while he drove us to the highway to get back to town.

My wife is now very hesitate to go on "adventures" with me and her dad after this ordeal.
