While I am sure everyones hike is notable and important to them I was curious if anyone is doing or trying anything out of the ordinary this year as far as Thru-Hikes go? Speed or whatever.

Seems pretty quiet on that end so far.

Last year was the year.

I havenīt heard of any cats, tubas or blind men.

When I start in June, I will be hiking backwards .... metaphorically of course. SOBO.

I saw a guy with a dead fox on top of his pack yesterday, does that count?

Only if it was meant to be worn and not eaten.

Glowworm - He is near Daleville and has yet to take a crap in the woods. We call it brown blazing... he either goes at a privy or gets a ride into town. He will not go in the woods.

I heard that someone was questioning the guy who has the record for being the oldest thru-hiker. The story was that he was going to do it again to shut up the naysayers. I never got to meet him though.

You mean Cimarron, the 86 yr old thruhiker? Is he still out there? I thought I was old...
