In cooperation with the Green Mountain Club, the online End to End guide is now open. We had some stumbles along the way but the site is officially up.

Here is what you can expect to find at the site during its "Beta" stage.

Online End to End Guide that is coordinated with the Long Trail map that you can purchase through the GMC. The guide is printable.
Shelter Guide - This guide provides pictures and descriptions of each shelter from south to north along the trail. The guide is printable per page
Preparation Guide - Basic information for those somewhat new to long distance backpacking
Trail Stories - Submit your own and read what’s there. Hiking the Long Trail is a great experience for many people.
Social Networking – the LTH website has a special component to it that allows for many Facebook like features. Make friends, post your status, create a blog, share your photos of your trail trips. In addition you can create a group with wall posts, photos and other items just as you can for yourself. Hook up with other LT hikers and enjoy your outdoor experience.
Webboards centric to the Long Trail – Forums for those asking questions about the Long Trail
GMC – Information and links to the Green Mountain Club, and the Green Mountain Club Sections.
Current Trail Conditions
Current Weather from Killington
Side Trails and Day Hike Information

In the near future there will be other and new features added such as:
1. Tools to help you plan your hike with shelter stops, mileages and food drops - You will be able to print your itinerary, etc
2. A Complete GPS track of the entire trail south to north
3. The ability to purchase GMC materials to help your hike
4. User contributed tips, articles, etc
www.longtrailhiking.info (http://www.longtrailhiking.info/) is a “commercial free” website meaning that WE do not ask you for donations to keep the site running. WE do not place generalized Google Ads as so many other communities do. We do however encourage those who use the site to consider becoming members of the GMC to help keep the trail operating not only for ourselves, but for those who will follow in our footsteps behind us. The importance of conservancy cannot be emphasized enough.
We invite you to come enjoy the website and to be involved with the Long Trail.
