Hi - I recently purchased Frogg Togg Classic rain gear. I was filling up my pack and they seemed kind of bulky (in their stuff sack). I know they are light but they seem to take up a lot of room. I was thinking of maybe going with a Marmot Precip. What's your take on rain gear???

Thanks!

I love my Froggs: waterproof, breathable, lightweight, cheap. They are bulky, though. I strap mine on the outside of my pack (GG Vapor Trail). That way, they are easy to reach when I need them, and they don't take up room.

I've been using Toggs for 10 years. Use a small sil nylon sac and they pack down.

Just jam it in around your other gear. :) Don't use the stuff sack. And I'd leave the rain pants at home this time of year.

Washing them helps too. Softens them up.

Precips are just as bulky if not bulkier as the frogg toggs. I changed to the precip because of over-all durablilty.

Thanks for the tips - I think I'll stick with the toggs and either strap them outside or jam them around my gear. Now why didn't I think of that??

PS. Blissful, I like your new pic. Very cool...

I also like to use the toggs in their case as a seat and pillow. Bulkiness has it's uses on occasion.

Anybody get a lot of fuzzballs coming off the Frogg toggs. And how do you combat that? Just washing them or is this a manufacturing defect.

Yeah they do fuzz up. You get what you pay for. But I just washed my son's jacket, and it now smells good finally.
