Just use my clothing stuff sack and hope it doesn't get so cold that I don't have anything for a pillow. :)

I have a little blow up pillow that Ed Speer from Speer hammocks gave me. It inflates with a straw, weighs nothing, and packs down to less than nothing.

This weekend I used my clothing stuff sack atop a large first aid kit (I was leading a hike). Worked like a charm!

n0. I either use my goose down vest, or roll up the end of the egg shell pad.

I do, I tried the clothes in my tent bag but it goes flat and for me is uncomfortable. I picked up an inflatable one with a fleece liner at wallyworld. It does help me sleep better and I don't mind carrying it if it helps me sleep.

I've got a cloth stuff sack and I'll use a pillow I got from an airplane in it... or my fleece.

I use my clothes bag as a pillow. I put it in my fleece lined sleeping bag stuff sack. Works great.

I use my clothes bag as well. 2 pair socks, 2 pair boxers, tshirt, poly undershirt, nylon pants, knit cap. My nephew is a pillow guy and complained about using his bag, so I bought him the fleece lined inflatable pillow from wallyworld, and iwill tell ya what that thing looks really comfortable lol. I never weighed it but if felt like about 5 ounces, so not to bad.

I get a small fleece pillow from Dicks Sporting goods. It is a fleece pillow case the has a zipper opening and was stuffed with a airplane like pillow. I took out the airplane like stuffing and fill it at night with my extra clothing. Usually my down jacket and raincoat. Works great and the fleece case only weighs 2.3 ounces.

I bought a Kelty camp pillow, cut it in half and re-sowed it. Now I have 2, but only carry one. I sleep a whole lot better with it.

You bet I did. Two of them. Cocoon travel pllows. :) Sleeping on a bumpy clothes bag (of which most are dirty from hiking) doesn't cut it for me.

I absolutely bring a pillow! I made my own that roles into it's own pouch about the size of a mini coke can... Well worth the space and weight.. sleeping on stinky clothes seems odd to me...

Absolutely, And prolly the only guy who likes thermarest's pillow ... wouldn't leave home without it, sleeping well is important to me ... i reserve the clothes in a stuffsack for the leg pillow to ease my back ... So i suppose i use both. =P

Not for myself but i carry one for my dad.

Nope. I stuff a stuffsack with something soft and put the sack inside a fleece vest or jacket. The weight of a pillow could be used for more warmth, much more important than convenient comfort (a pillow). The inflatable ones are ok, but they don't seem to like to stay put (and they can be cold).

Got the store brand "Magellen" inflatable pillow from Academy Sports. What I like is that it is fat. Most are too skinny and flat to be worth the weight. Can always wrap it in a fleece jacket or clothes if I want. I sleep on my side and have to have a pillow.

I have one of the large thermarest pillows. What can I say...I have a bad neck since a serious car accident a few years ago. I even have to have the pillow in the hammock.

I carry the Sea to Summit pillow. It has a air core with memory foam. Best thing I ever bought for camping. I'm a side sleeper so a bigger firmer pillow is a must. I also use the air core part as a sitting pad.

Even after switching to hammocks a few years ago, I still use my Therm-A-Rest pillow. It's well worth it's weight to me for the comfort it provides. I tried going without it on an overnighter a few weeks ago and using my jacket as a pillow. It just wasn't the same at all.

I do not. I change into camp clothes when I get off the trail, let my trail clothes dry, then stuff them into a stuff sack at night right before I climb into bed and use that as a pillow.

Yes, I use inflatable water wings I bought at Walmart. They weigh about 2 oz and cost a dollar.

I bring a cheap, light pillow CASE, and stuff all the clothes in it I'm not likely to use overnight to create a soft pillow.

Absolutely, I've got an LL Bean camp pillow that stays in my pack. Except when I sleeping, that is.

Though since I returned, I sleep with lots and lots of pillows. Not that I need them, just that I missed them.

Why bother with a separate pillow when there are so many items already in your pack that can pull double duty (clothing in a stuff sack, for example)?

I dont have anything in my pack to use as a pillow. I have desinged my pack contents so that i am wearing them. What would happen if it got cold and you had to wear all your clothes?

I probably don't travel as light as you... though in the past when I have had to wear all my clothes, have been in my tent (so I couldn't use the tent as a pillow in a shelter), etc. I have still been able to use the removable top section of my pack as a pillow.

To be fair, I've never tented at below-freezing temperatures. But if I did, I would still have my extra pairs of socks, pack towel, and various items to use...besides which, I put my sleeping pad below my head. But I've always assumed everyone does that.

Congrats, though, on paring your gear down!

Ditto.

And if it gets cold enough to start cannibalizing my pillow, I blow air into my water bladder and put it in the stuff sack.

I used my MSR Dromidary bag and i made a silk cover to fit over it and there is an optional kit to convert it to a Hydration bag and shower bag so it can be ajusted to be firm or soft and you can fill it with water or air it works great for me

I often bring a pillow, but in the form of a stuffed sleeping bag sack, food bag, or shoes. After hiking 12-14 hr 25 + mile days I could sleep naked during a downpour on a granite slab on top of Katahdin.

I've always used clothes in the stuff sack I use for clothes or sleeping bag.
BUT, my new silnylon stuff sack is too slippery!! :( My head kept sliding off it.
