I'm going to need a lot of mail drops on my thru hike next week so I can get dog food from home. Where can I find a list of addresses where I can get packages from home on the way?

You are thru-hiking next week and do not yet know where to send mail drops? Do you have any of the 3 handbooks? Every address you will need are in those. Is this a spontaneous adventure? You seem a bit unprepared. Welcome anyway and have a good hike.

If you're going next week you're cutting it close, perhaps too close to mail stuff and have it get there for the first few drops. You should get one of the A.T. databooks that list all the P.O.s and other places you can have mail drops. Where time is short, try the online ALDHA Companion (http://www.aldha.org/comp_pdf.htm). Keep in mind that no databook is absolutely correct and a call to a place you're interested in would be a wise idea. Also keep in mind there may be stores along the way that would have what you need and make resupply easier. The Companion has that info as well.

The link is at the bottom of each of my posts now and I expect to keep it there. I post something almost every day.

Click appendix (http://www.aldha.org/companyn/appndx09.pdf) to view a list of post offices near the AT.

I think they speyled companion wrong in the ALDHA link.:D

It works but try http://www.aldha.org/comp_pdf.htm to go direct.

Not with all the practice I get and Google toolbar in my corner!:p:D Still, there are times, I must resort higher authorities.

The non-standard spelling of companion I'm sure was to comply with the eight character limit on file names. I like your file name better and will modify my signature immediately.:)
