I am in a bit of a dilemma, I have successfully sold several large tents on ebay after posting them here first. I have one very well made Qwest 8 man tent that I use once a year for back of car camping. Our family used this tent in the past to drive out to a park and and then hike the trails on the weekend. Yea thats right, one person on the left one on the right a table for the laptop and a chair to sit out a down pour. THis is as big as the original swamp on Mash. You can stand up in it! Get changed! kick back and have a few brews after a long day. Rip stop nylon, tub floor, sun windows, electric port. Puchased for $350, five years ago, I won't be using it anymore. So I was going to blow it out. My dad talked me out of it, that some day I will need it again.... hmmm maybe after Armegedon. So I went to the box stores and they just don't market these big tents anymore. So I am starting to see his point.

Should I hang on to it? What are your thoughts.?

I'm a packrat lol, so I say keep it. I am sure it is worth more than you will ever get for it

Me too. I had an even bigger one that I spent a few periods of one to two weeks inside it car camping, sold it to a neighbour for $100 , less than a third of what I paid.
If you don't need the room , keep it.

You'll never get more back than it's worth. It's great to keep around for car camping in case you decide to go on a whim and for friends to borrow. I enjoy having enough gear to outfit people.

Keep it. It's irreplaceable. You'll want it for similar camping at some point.

I'd keep it.

Of course I still have the 3 man A-frame tent I bought from the sporting goods department in JC Penny's back in 1980.

I also have several others I keep talking about selling then end up using or loaning.

The nice thing about the big car camping set up is if you ever are encouraging non-camping friends to spend a few days in the woods, you have something comfortable to give them a good first experience.

Yep, another vote for keeping it if you have room.

Would you take $345 and throw in the cold Yungling and the green cooler?

Give it to a church. They can use it for a camp meeting.

I still say keep it, but if you decide to get rid of it and are not willing to do the work of a $100.00 ebay deal, I have a church youth group that would put it to use.

With smaller government Chrysler green cars on the way they just might fit though the door.

The last tent fetched $91 on Ebay after no responses for a month on WB.

We have a Large Boy Scout troup that would benifit first if I couldn't sell it. I donated heavily my time and old gear to them for years.

It looks like a great car camping tent, if you occasionally do that sort of thing and don't have an RV.

Unless your wife is Mrs. Dugger, sounds like you need to unload a tent or two. :)

Sorry, had to ask. :)

I really do like that big tent though. If I had that it'd be in the "I'm going to need that one day..." category.

it was great when my son was growing up but I suspect my snoring drove him nuts... When I am back of car camping this has held up in near hurricane conditions. When it gets bad you just hang a lamp and read magazines in a camp chair. Drink a beer in complete privacy. One campground had free wifi and I sat there and posted on WB after a full day hiking. The only hitch with the tent is the half hour setting it up by myself - the kmart tent goes up in minutes.
